Wonderfully charming perforated metal public park bench designed in the 1950's by French designer René Malaval. After the Second World War, René Malaval was tasked with creating public outdoor seating using munitions surplus from World War II. He came up with this and other designs using metal sheeting. Malaval’s eco friendly and practical solution was widely adopted across post-war France. These came in many different forms such as; benches, rubbish bins, chairs and outdoor tables. Wear commensurate with age and location. Structurally in excellent condition. Fabulous vintage patina.
