Manita Chica Small

$24.00

This hand is handmade! Despite not having a specific function, this piece originally developed by the potter members of our cooperative in Tonaltepec in 2016, has been adopted by the public to hold candles, small bowls and mezcal cups, or to serve bread and desserts.

Tonaltepec pottery pieces are among the few in the world that use vegetable pigments for decoration. The dark brown color of the stains is achieved when, after removing them from the kiln, at a temperature close to 900°C, the artisan applies an ink made from oak bark.
